After a Shower
After a Shower
Flying amongst the trees,
Between branches, between trees,
Cutting across, sunshine so bright
Spotting glazened fruits.
There I see my spotted mate,
Singing I guess, just for me.
A lift in the air, it takes me there
To find her yet far away.
Guess she was playing the game of love.
I fluttered my wings, singing all along.
Down came a drop,
I thought was dropping from my rival.
Oh no ! Down came the showers
On a bright summer day ? !
Now I sit here, silent, forgetting my tunes
Pruning my wet feathers.
