Love
Love
What wonders would you work
In the hearts of men and women
Of fancies bright or dark
Who revel and rove after sweet hearts
Amenable to their whims and virtues.
How much O! how long you strain
Their senses, put impediments
On their path in attaining
Their cherished hearty ends,
Dragging along craggy grounds,
Are their wavering sneaks,
Sighs, wailings, and sensations
Day in and day out ruminating
Brooding, burning or burying
Of their hearts, your amusement ?

O ! Love how sweet you are !
Divine, benevolent and fair,
Resourceful and graceful,
You enliven and ennoble
All the souls by and large.
