Wait
Wait
This hilly tract once heaven to me
A land so beautiful, sublime
The trees with emerald green,
Creepers with flowers serene,
As if drawn on a fitting screen
To every eye a sweet refreshing scene
A sight unforgettable, cherishing
A charm to me of heart so crushing
As cast by dint of fate with spite
Alone I wait here, at dusk, with fright
Many a wakeful night dear
Had looked me in the face, by hour,
And made my days too a horror,
Asking in silence why you didn't
Rush to my side with your soothing love
That glowed in every word and every move
